THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN: 'Acting Is So A Part Of My Past At This Point'
March 28, 2017THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen has once again said that she has no plans to act again, explaining that her previous career as an actress "is so a part of [her] past."
Momsen appeared in various movies, commercials and TV shows since she was a child, and was best known for her role on the TV show "Gossip Girl". But she has not pursued any new acting gigs while recording three albums with the band, including last year's "Who You Selling For".
Asked by KLAQ's Lisa Sanchez if there is any acting role that she couldn't say "no" to, Momsen said: "I don't think so, no. Acting is so a part of my past at this point, it really legitimately was my childhood. So, no."
Taylor added that she was "thrown into" acting, saying: "When I got to an age that I realized I could make my own decisions, that's when I quit acting and solely committed to the band."
Momsen told The Pulse Of Radio in 2014 interview that acting "was always a day job " for her, "something that paid bills. I never considered myself an actor — I was a musician who just happened to be on a TV show."
Momsen added that her family always knew this was what she really wanted to do. "They knew that music was always where I was headed, and what my — that was my passion and my goal," she said. "I mean, acting was a day job, essentially, while I worked on writing a record's worth of material that I wanted people to hear, and finding the right people to work with and the right band and all that. So they weren't surprised when I jumped ship."
"Who You Selling For" came out last October. The disc was produced by the band's longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS will continue to tour throughout the year in support of the album, hitting major markets and festival shows, including Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion and Rocklahoma in the U.S. as well as playing European and South American dates.
